Legal Forms and Modes of Transportation: An Overview

Legal Forms and Modes of Transportation: An Overview

List the legal forms and modes of transportation.

Transport by freight includes transport of goods by road by train, water by boats, by rail (often by separate freight), air by air and by trucks. Transport of freight may be part of logistics. One consists of mixed and multimodal shipping, when goods are sequentially shipped using different means (Rondinelli & Berry, 2000). Intermodal travel is a particular way of this; where the whole truck or trailer, sometimes even on a plane, is carried on the boat or train.

Which mode is the least expensive?

Sea transportation is very inexpensive relative to other transport methods. However, there is a host of logistical issues should be taken into consideration. The port is also not convenient to the customer and therefore must plan road transport. It takes such a long time. Therefore, the most affordable mode of transport is dependent on various situations.

Which mode carries the most freight?

In logistics, the first and most common way is road transport. Road transport is longer than fashion, which is the most often used in logistics, ranging from cycling, horse riding, buses, trucks, etc. Therefore, it carries most freight.

Which mode is growing the fastest? Shrinking the fastest?

It is no surprise that the shipping of containers by sea is very cheap. Especially when compare it to transport by air or by ground (Rondinelli & Berry, 2000)  This is because so many sea containers have to be bought per container on a big container ship. Because our planners are always able to identify the most effective mode of cargo transport. That depends on the size and quality of products. On the other hand, rail transportation is shrinking day by day.
